Dhan Nirankar Ji...
This dates back to the days when India had just gained freedom. Our first prime minister
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was traveling for some political work. He was crowded at a
place when someone from the crowd stopped him and questioned, “What have we
got after freedom? What is the difference?” Pandit Ji replied calmly, “This is the
difference. Now, you can talk to Prime Minister of your country directly. If you had you
tried this prior to gaining independence, probably some British government official
would have shot you or put you in jail.”
Isn’t there a similar difference between freedom of a Nation and freedom of the soul.
When a nation becomes independent, its people can speak to the Head of their
Nation anytime and when the soul becomes independent one can speak directly to
Head of the soul i.e. Almighty Super Soul anytime!
But we must always remember that even freedom comes at a price. When George W
Bush was President of U.S.A., a reporter had thrown a shoe at him during a press
conference. A few people tried to do the same even in India. Then a time came when
throwing shoes at Ministers became a fashion. Although many of them were off target
but all the offenders were sent behind the bars. Even freedom of speech is bound by
rules and regulations.
Babaji once said,
“Mujhe itni aazadi de do, ki main teri qaid mein reh sakun”.
It is good to have a free & independent life but freedom is coupled with some bindings.
To lead a happy life, one should enjoy freedom within the limitations attached to it.
